Relocating to Temescal Valley, CA -pros and cons?

Hey everyone, I've been here for 13 years and Rent is about $2,794/month for a decent place. Poverty rate is 4.7%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $119,647 in Temescal Valley. Average temperature is around 66--F, so the weather is moderate. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. What do you all think? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Definitely worth checking out..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Boston about 2 years ago. The main reasons were family and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good schools in most areas
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are manageable, gas is average.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Happy to answer more specific questions..
