Best neighborhoods in Tempe

OK so Been living here since 2014. Poverty rate is 8.0%, which is pretty low. With a population of 186K, Tempe is a mid-size city. You can expect to pay around $1,623 for rent here. The median home value here is around $421,900, which is pretty steep. Rent is about $1,623/month for a decent place. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Pros:
- Close to nature
- Strong sense of community
- Plenty of shopping options
- Active local events

Cons:
- Rising rent prices
- Not very walkable
- Boring for young people
- Limited cultural events

Used to live on the Springfield side, now on the Riverside side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.
