Pros and cons of Temperance after 15 years

Been meaning to ask this. Military spouse here. It's a a small town city with about 8,495 people. You can expect to pay around $1,270 for rent here. Household incomes average around $76,069 in Temperance. Average temperature is around 49--F, so expect cold winters. Poverty rate is 6.2%, which is pretty low. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Good job market
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Cold winters
- Mosquitoes and humidity
- Not enough green space
Should I be concerned? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from New York about 12 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good schools in most areas
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are manageable, gas is improving.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Hope this helps!.

I've been living here for 6 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The traffic is decent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The dating scene scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Nightlife is limited

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for couples. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
