I'm single, late 30s, and You can expect to pay around $3,143 for rent here. The median home value here is around $974,300, which is pretty steep. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Thoughts? Thanks for reading.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely challenging and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Greenfield) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Dating scene is rough.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.
I've been here 7 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is solid.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The East side vs the Springfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
