I grew up here but left for a while. Crime rate is something to consider -Tenafly sits at 6.9 per 100K. Homes are going for about $974,300 on average. It's a a small town city with about 15,252 people. You can expect to pay around $3,143 for rent here. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Appreciate any input. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Midtown. It's hit or miss for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in tech. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally solid. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like sushi.
Feel free to reach out with questions..

Used to live on the Riverside side, now on the The Heights side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Greenfield. It's hit or miss for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in construction. If you're in engineering you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.
