First post here. I'm single, late 30s, and Median household income is $41,960, which feels on the lower side for the area. With a population of 58,491, Terre Haute is a smaller city. The unemployment rate is 4.2%, which is about average. Homes are going for about $109,500 on average. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Has anyone dealt with this? It's not perfect, but the community is solid.
