Cheapest neighborhoods in Terre Haute?

Anyone else feel this way? I'm a college student here and Median household income is $41,960, which feels on the lower side for the area. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Would love some local perspective.

Used to live on the South side, now on the Fairview side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Public transit is tough here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

The food scene here is improving. Tons of great seafood places. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it was the best decision I ever made. Internet is challenging in most areas.

I've lived in Uptown for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Lots of new development happening
- The nightlife scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Property taxes are high

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for young professionals. Good luck with whatever you decide..
