Longtime lurker here, I'm a 44-year-old project manager and Rent is about $877/month for a decent place. Median household income is $41,960, which feels on the lower side for the area. Crime rate is something to consider -Terre Haute sits at 324.1 per 100K. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. What neighborhoods would you suggest? The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.
