Quick question about Texarkana
Longtime lurker here, We're a young couple and Homes are going for about $159,700 on average. Would love some local perspective.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a nurse who relocated here from Tampa about 6 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good internet infrastructure
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are competitive, gas is pretty good.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Hope this helps!.
