Grocery stores in Texas City -recommendations?

I'm a 46-year-old pharmacist and Crime rate is something to consider -Texas City sits at 400.7 per 100K. It's a a smaller city city with about 54,159 people. The median home value here is around $190,600, which is actually reasonable. The unemployment rate is 4.6%, which is about average. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. What do you all think? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. I've lived in Westside for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities
- The safety scene is solid

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Sunset for 14 years. Moved from Baltimore for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is tough. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
engineering is strong here. education is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it exceeded my expectations. The outdoor scene is average - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Sunset schools are challenging. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited public transit options. Dating scene is rough. And community vibe can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 8/10. Would recommend to anyone considering it.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is pet-friendliness. it's not perfect but it works for me. Worth doing your research before committing.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely tough and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Lakewood) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from LA, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The community vibe is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
