Starting a business in Texas City?

Random thought, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and The unemployment rate is 4.6%, which is about average. Homes are going for about $190,600 on average. Median household income is $65,447, which feels about average for the area. The median home value here is around $190,600, which is actually reasonable. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Thoughts? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 13 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Hot take but I have mixed feelings honestly. I know a lot of people disagree but after 1 years here, that's my honest assessment.

We moved here with our family and it exceeded my expectations. Schools in Maple Ridge area are underrated. Kids love it here.
