Rent vs buy in Thatcher -what makes sense?

Alright, I've been here for 8 years and You can expect to pay around $967 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider -Thatcher sits at 58.0 per 100K. Average temperature is around 65--F, so the weather is moderate. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Is this normal for Thatcher? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value food scene, you'll love it. The outdoor recreation is genuinely hit or miss and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (West) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Chain restaurants dominate.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
