Is The Acreage worth it salary-wise?

Hey everyone, We're a young couple and The unemployment rate is 2.4%, which is pretty low. With a population of 40,188, The Acreage is a smaller city. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Should I be concerned? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

I've lived in Westside for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The cost of living scene is average

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Feel free to reach out with questions..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Internet is hit or miss in most areas.

I've lived in Sunset for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Decent public transit for the size
- The outdoor recreation scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

As someone who grew up here, the quality of life is solid. A lot has changed in the past few years though. job market used to be much reasonable but now it's challenging.

Weather-wise, the summers are pretty good and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
