Best restaurants in The Dalles?

Alright, I'm a teacher here and Crime rate is something to consider -The Dalles sits at 177.8 per 100K. Rent is about $956/month for a decent place. With a population of 15,973, The Dalles is a small town. It's a a small town city with about 15,973 people. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Worth the trade-offs? Cheers. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

I'm a writer and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community is decent and there's always something going on.

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I'm still on the fence after all this time.
