Should I move to The Hammocks or stay in Atlanta?

You can expect to pay around $2,041 for rent here. With a population of 58,548, The Hammocks is a smaller city. Crime rate is something to consider -The Hammocks sits at 231.7 per 100K. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. What neighborhoods would you suggest? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

I'm a data analyst and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The community is decent and there's always something going on.

Hot take but it exceeded my expectations. I know a lot of people disagree but after 9 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Bought a house here in 2023 and I genuinely enjoy living here. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from San Francisco about 5 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are competitive, gas is challenging.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is community vibe. it exceeded my expectations. Worth doing your research before committing.
