Moving to The Woodlands for work -advice?

Hey everyone, I'm a teacher here and Rent is about $1,792/month for a decent place. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. What would you do? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Uptown. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in retail. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

Feel free to reach out with questions..
