The Woodlands vs Omaha -which is better?

Hey, Military spouse here. Median household income is $141,353, which feels pretty solid for the area. Homes are going for about $479,400 on average. Rent is about $1,792/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $479,400, which is pretty steep. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. What neighborhoods would you suggest? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Oak Park. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in consulting. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Bought a house here in 2022 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone up a bit since then.
