Working remotely from The Woodlands — my experience
I've been working remotely from The Woodlands for 13 years now. Here's my take:
The pace of life here is perfect for remote work. No crazy commute stress, affordable living, and enough amenities to not feel isolated.
Cost of living: pretty reasonable
Internet: Decent, getting better with new providers
Coworking spaces: Limited but the library works in a pinch
If you're looking for a place to WFH, The Woodlands is worth considering.

Been here 20 years. The city has changed a lot but overall for the better.

I'd add that the school system has been improving steadily. Otherwise spot on!

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Maple Heights and Pine Grove are perfectly safe.

For families, I'd recommend looking at Northside. Schools are rated well and it's quiet.

Coming from San Francisco, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are slightly more expensive but housing makes up for it.

Downtown is overrated and overpriced. The suburbs offer way better value.

Traffic is the worst part honestly. But if you live near work it's fine.

Good summary. I'd rate it higher personally — maybe 6/10.
