Why I chose Third Lake over bigger cities

Alright, I grew up here but left for a while. Average temperature is around 49--F, so expect cold winters. Household incomes average around $150,893 in Third Lake. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 13 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Old Town side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've been living here for 4 years and I'd say the quality of life is solid. The safety is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Hot take but I'm still on the fence after all this time. I know a lot of people disagree but after 14 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Used to live on the Meadowbrook side, now on the Cedar Grove side. Completely different vibe. it's exactly what I was looking for.

Public transit is improving here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it exceeded my expectations.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Atlanta about 9 years ago. The main reasons were family and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Affordable housing options
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are manageable, gas is underrated.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are decent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Hot take but it's improved dramatically in recent years. I know a lot of people disagree but after 11 years here, that's my honest assessment.
