Raising a family in Thompson's Station -thoughts?

OK so The median home value here is around $598,200, which is pretty steep. Average temperature is around 60--F, so the weather is moderate. Household incomes average around $122,139 in Thompson's Station. The unemployment rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Pros:
- Nice parks and trails
- Walkable downtown
- Active local events
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Not very walkable
- Few job opportunities in some fields

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 11 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are average, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
