Hey everyone, I'm a teacher here and Homes are going for about $482,200 on average. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Should I be concerned? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a social worker who relocated here from Nashville about 11 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Lots of new development happening
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Limited high-paying job options
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are pricey, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Definitely worth checking out..

I work in manufacturing here and I love the pace of life here. The job market for my field is decent. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Bought a house here in 2017 and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

I'm a writer who relocated here from Dallas about 7 years ago. The main reasons were weather and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Close to major attractions
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Rising rent and home prices
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are growing, gas is better than expected.
Socially, I love the pace of life here. Definitely worth checking out..
