Commute times in Thornton — how bad?

Rent is about $1,810/month for a decent place. The unemployment rate is 3.4%, which is pretty low. Poverty rate is 4.8%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $482,200 on average. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. What do you all think? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 5 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

I've been living here for 5 years and I'd say it was the best decision I ever made. The walkability is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..

Weather-wise, the summers are decent and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.

Used to live on the Cedar Grove side, now on the East side. Completely different vibe. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, the quality of life is solid. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Hot take but it's improved dramatically in recent years. I know a lot of people disagree but after 11 years here, that's my honest assessment.

As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. pet-friendliness used to be much competitive but now it's average.

I've been here 3 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
