Moving to Thornton — what should I know?

I got a job offer in Thornton, CO and I'm seriously considering the move. I'm coming from a large city. A few questions:

1. Which neighborhoods should I look at for a $1400-2200 budget?
2. How's the commute situation?
3. Is the crime rate accurate for day-to-day life?
4. Any hidden costs I should know about?

Thanks in advance!

Totally agree with this. I've been here 7 years and my experience is very similar.

Been here 20 years. The city has changed a lot but overall for the better.

For families, I'd recommend looking at Lakewood. Schools are rated well and it's quiet.

As someone who moved here from Seattle, I can confirm most of this. The cost of living surprised me the most.

The job market has been improving lately. Several tech companies moved in recently.

I've lived in Southside for 15 years and it's still one of the best decisions I made.
