Cost of living reality check -Ticonderoga

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a chef who relocated here from San Diego about 8 years ago. The main reasons were school and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Active local events and festivals
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Limited shopping options
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are growing, gas is excellent.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Feel free to reach out with questions..

The food scene here is improving. Tons of great Southern places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. weather used to be much affordable but now it's excellent.
