Tiffin quality of life -am I missing something?

Alright, I'm retired and You can expect to pay around $834 for rent here. Median household income is $55,700, which feels about average for the area. Poverty rate is 7.9%, which is pretty low. The unemployment rate is 2.3%, which is pretty low. It's a a small town city with about 17,814 people. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Pros:
- Good job market
- Nice parks and trails
- Strong sense of community

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Limited public transit
- Limited dining options

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a nurse, 54, moved here 9 years ago from Charlotte. I've lived in North and Maple Ridge, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Nice parks and green spaces
3. Good healthcare facilities
4. The people are generally improving - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Dating scene is rough
2. Far from beaches/mountains
3. The food scene situation is stable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- North: Great for remote workers. better than expected vibes, walkable.
- Maple Ridge: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Charlotte, everything felt better than expected. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $100K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely tough and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Highland) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.
