Just moved to Tigard, any tips?

Hey folks, I'm single, late 30s, and Rent is about $1,732/month for a decent place. Poverty rate is 5.8%, which is pretty low. The unemployment rate is 3.3%, which is pretty low. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. Am I overthinking this? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I've lived in Pine Hills for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:

- Friendly community, easy to meet people

- Close to major attractions

- The community vibe scene is hit or miss

The downsides:

- Winters are long and cold

- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for remote workers. Definitely worth checking out..
