Public transit is challenging here. You'll probably need a car for most things. the quality of life is solid.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from San Diego about 11 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events and festivals
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are wild, gas is pretty good.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

My experience has been mostly positive. I have mixed feelings honestly. The only thing I'd watch out for is pet-friendliness. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. outdoor recreation used to be much reasonable but now it's surprisingly good.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Meadowbrook. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Feel free to reach out with questions..
