Housing market in Tillmans Corner right now

So, I relocated for work and With a population of 17,678, Tillmans Corner is a small town. Homes are going for about $155,000 on average. Median household income is $52,249, which feels on the lower side for the area. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Pros:
- Friendly people
- Low crime in most areas
- Low taxes
- Walkable downtown
- Plenty of shopping options

Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Not very walkable
- Lack of diversity
- Mosquitoes and humidity
- Far from major airports
Worth the trade-offs? Thanks! Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are competitive. You get used to it after the first year.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a contractor, 52, moved here 15 years ago from Salt Lake City. I've lived in South and Westside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Active local events and festivals
2. Diverse dining options
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally better than expected - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Urban sprawl is real
2. Far from beaches/mountains
3. The weather situation is stable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- South: Great for couples. improving vibes, walkable.
- Westside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Salt Lake City, everything felt decent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $60K-$150K here.

**Final verdict:**
It's not for everyone but it works for us.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've been living here for 8 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The nightlife is pretty good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in West. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Phoenix about 9 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Decent public transit for the size
- Lots of new development happening

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are reasonable, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is housing market. I love the pace of life here. Worth doing your research before committing.

Came here for cost of living and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The weather is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
