Couple moving to Timberwood Park from out of state

Curious what people think. Rent is about $2,012/month for a decent place. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Does this match your experience? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Used to live on the Eastside side, now on the Riverside side. Completely different vibe. it's been a really good experience overall.

Public transit is decent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cost of living, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely improving and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The school system is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
