Longtime lurker here, Average temperature is around 56--F, so the weather is moderate. Household incomes average around $130,732 in Timonium. The unemployment rate is 2.6%, which is pretty low. With a population of 10,880, Timonium is a small town. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Anyone in a similar situation? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from Minneapolis about 13 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Active local events and festivals
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are affordable, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is traffic. it was the best decision I ever made. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from Chicago about 10 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Active local events and festivals
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are competitive, gas is solid.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a chef, 25, moved here 9 years ago from Atlanta. I've lived in North and Eastside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Lots of new development happening
2. Four distinct seasons
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally tough - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Can feel isolated
3. The school system situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- North: Great for singles. underrated vibes, walkable.
- Eastside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Atlanta, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $60K-$70K here.

**Final verdict:**
Feel free to reach out with questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 8 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

I'm a chef and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community is underrated and there's always something going on.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from New York about 12 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are pricey, gas is better than expected.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Hope this helps!.

Hot take but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. I know a lot of people disagree but after 4 years here, that's my honest assessment.
