Hi all, Born and raised here. You can expect to pay around $1,281 for rent here. The unemployment rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. What are your go-to spots? Looking forward to hearing from you all.

I'm a marketing manager and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. The community is average and there's always something going on.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it was the best decision I ever made. Internet is challenging in most areas.

Came here for family and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The healthcare is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely pretty good and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Downtown) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. school system is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Weather-wise, the summers are tough and winters are growing. You get used to it after the first year.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a accountant who relocated here from Austin about 11 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Lots of new development happening
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are reasonable, gas is underrated.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've been living here for 4 years and I'd say the quality of life is solid. The food scene is solid compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is outdoor recreation. I have mixed feelings honestly. Worth doing your research before committing.
