OK so Rent is about $1,281/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $64,898 in Titusville. It's a a smaller city city with about 49,004 people. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Am I overthinking this? Thanks in advance! Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Oak Park for 13 years. Moved from Tampa for family. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is improving. We bought in 2022 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.
**Employment:**
manufacturing is strong here. finance is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
it's exactly what I was looking for. The outdoor scene is excellent - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Oak Park schools are surprisingly good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Summers can be brutally hot. Winters are long and cold. And healthcare can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 6/10. No regrets on my end.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a social worker who relocated here from Austin about 15 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Lots of new development happening
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Rising rent and home prices
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are developing, gas is better than expected.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
