Career opportunities in Toledo, OH

Random thought, I grew up here but left for a while. Rent is about $880/month for a decent place. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Looking forward to hearing from you all. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 15 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've lived in South for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Lots of new development happening
- The school system scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cost of living, then yeah this place is great. But if school system matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
