Why I chose Toms River over bigger cities

Hey, I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Thoughts? The suburbs are where most families end up.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Uptown. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in government. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Came here for retirement and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The traffic is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want safety, then yeah this place is great. But if healthcare matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
