Is Tonawanda Town a good place to live?
First post here. Poverty rate is 6.6%, which is pretty low. The unemployment rate is 2.4%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 49--F, so expect cold winters. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.
Pros:
- Low crime in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities
- Walkable downtown
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Cold winters
- Limited dining options
- Mosquitoes and humidity
- Not enough green space
It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to.
