Hi all, I'm a teacher here and It's a a small town city with about 5,739 people. With a population of 5,739, Tontitown is a small town. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Any advice would be great. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Came here for retirement and stayed because there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The weather is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've been living here for 6 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The cost of living is average compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

Bought a house here in 2016 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in North for 10 years. Moved from Minneapolis for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is solid. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.
**Employment:**
education is strong here. construction is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are developing for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I genuinely enjoy living here. The outdoor scene is hit or miss - we have ski resorts within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. North schools are surprisingly good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Not a lot of cultural diversity. Chain restaurants dominate. And pet-friendliness can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 8/10. No regrets on my end.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

As someone who grew up here, it was the best decision I ever made. A lot has changed in the past few years though. nightlife used to be much competitive but now it's excellent.

Used to live on the Maple Ridge side, now on the North side. Completely different vibe. it's exactly what I was looking for.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.
I've been here 14 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is average.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
