Random thought, With a population of 37,265, Tooele is a smaller city. Crime rate is something to consider -Tooele sits at 204.4 per 100K. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. What are your go-to spots? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up.

We moved here with our family and I love the pace of life here. Schools in Highland area are improving. Kids love it here.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a writer, 34, moved here 11 years ago from Denver. I've lived in Fairview and Uptown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Strong job market in several industries
2. Active local events and festivals
3. Four distinct seasons
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Summers can be brutally hot
2. Not very walkable outside downtown
3. The pet-friendliness situation is wild and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Fairview: Great for remote workers. excellent vibes, walkable.
- Uptown: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Denver, everything felt solid. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is pricey. You can live comfortably on $70K-$90K here.
**Final verdict:**
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
