Pros and cons of Topeka after 7 years

Alright, I'm originally from Houston and The median home value here is around $130,600, which is actually reasonable. With a population of 126K, Topeka is a mid-size city. Homes are going for about $130,600 on average. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. What do you all think? It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Pittsburgh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Pine Hills. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in real estate. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

Hope this helps!.
