Thinking about relocating to Topeka from Las Vegas
Anyone else feel this way? I work in government and Household incomes average around $55,902 in Topeka. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Has anyone dealt with this? The city has invested a lot in new development. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

I've lived in Riverside for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Decent public transit for the size
- The weather scene is solid
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for families. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. outdoor recreation used to be much established but now it's improving.
