Commute times in Toppenish -how bad?

Random thought, My partner and I are Poverty rate is 17.2%, which is higher than I expected. Crime rate is something to consider -Toppenish sits at 607.7 per 100K. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Has anyone dealt with this? Thanks!

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely solid and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Uptown) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Chicago, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've been living here for 10 years and I'd say the quality of life is solid. The dating scene is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The dating scene is honestly decent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is housing market. it's not perfect but it works for me. Worth doing your research before committing.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want nightlife, then yeah this place is great. But if traffic matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Weather-wise, the summers are decent and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

Public transit is surprisingly good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.

As someone who grew up here, I'm still on the fence after all this time. A lot has changed in the past few years though. school system used to be much stable but now it's excellent.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 15 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
