Is Topsham getting better or worse?

Curious what people think. I'm a college student here and With a population of 6,962, Topsham is a small town. Average temperature is around 46--F, so expect cold winters. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The weather takes some getting used to. Thoughts? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

I've lived in Fairview for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The walkability scene is improving

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for retirees. Good luck with whatever you decide..
