Hi all, I grew up here but left for a while. Rent is about $2,214/month for a decent place. Median household income is $113,105, which feels pretty solid for the area. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. What do you all think? Thanks in advance! There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's improved dramatically in recent years. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a project manager who relocated here from Minneapolis about 13 years ago. The main reasons were family and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Decent public transit for the size
- Strong job market in several industries
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are wild, gas is pretty good.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Definitely worth checking out..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want community vibe, then yeah this place is great. But if safety matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
