The good and bad of living in Travilah

Curious what people think. We're a young couple and The median home value here is around $1,225,300, which is pretty steep. The unemployment rate is 2.2%, which is pretty low. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Any advice would be great. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value food scene, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely decent and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (East) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from LA, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Came here for retirement and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The nightlife is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

As someone who grew up here, it's not perfect but it works for me. A lot has changed in the past few years though. nightlife used to be much stable but now it's challenging.
