Curious what people think. I'm retired and The median home value here is around $334,300, which seems about average. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. What would you do? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I work in education here and it's not perfect but it works for me. The job market for my field is underrated. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely underrated and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (West) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Pittsburgh, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Tampa about 12 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good internet infrastructure
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Can feel isolated
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are reasonable, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Phoenix about 7 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Lots of new development happening
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are established, gas is pretty good.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Hope this helps!.
