The median home value here is around $294,200, which seems about average. With a population of 4,086, Trent Woods is a small town. Crime rate is something to consider -Trent Woods sits at 47.3 per 100K. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Is this normal for Trent Woods? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a pharmacist, 34, moved here 12 years ago from Miami. I've lived in Eastside and Meadowbrook, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Good internet infrastructure
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally better than expected - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Not very walkable outside downtown
2. Limited high-paying job options
3. The nightlife situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Eastside: Great for retirees. improving vibes, walkable.
- Meadowbrook: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Miami, everything felt better than expected. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $80K-$130K here.
**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've been living here for 2 years and I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for. The job market is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.
I've been here 15 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is improving.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've been here 11 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is surprisingly good.

I've been here 11 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is improving.

I've lived in Westside for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Decent public transit for the size
- The cost of living scene is surprisingly good
The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for singles. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The public transit is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is outdoor recreation. I genuinely enjoy living here. Worth doing your research before committing.
