Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm retired and The median home value here is around $202,400, which is actually reasonable. Rent is about $873/month for a decent place. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to. What neighborhoods would you suggest? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is public transit. the quality of life is solid. Worth doing your research before committing.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.
I've been here 9 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is better than expected.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. the quality of life is solid. Compared to San Francisco it's tough.

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I have mixed feelings honestly.
