Not sure if this has been asked before, but The median home value here is around $202,400, which is actually reasonable. You can expect to pay around $873 for rent here. From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are excellent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from San Diego about 5 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Four distinct seasons
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are stable, gas is excellent.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
