Public transit is challenging here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I genuinely enjoy living here.

As someone who grew up here, it's not perfect but it works for me. A lot has changed in the past few years though. food scene used to be much stable but now it's underrated.

I've lived in Eastside for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good internet infrastructure
- The safety scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value traffic, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely challenging and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Dallas, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Limited shopping options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Westside for 3 years. Moved from New York for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is pretty good. We bought in 2020 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
healthcare is strong here. tech is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are reasonable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I genuinely enjoy living here. The outdoor scene is solid - we have beaches within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Westside schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Summers can be brutally hot. Limited entertainment options. And public transit can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 7/10. Would recommend to anyone considering it.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Uptown. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in government. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
