Is Trenton still affordable?

I'm originally from Charlotte and The unemployment rate is 6.3%, which is concerning. With a population of 89,966, Trenton is a smaller city. Homes are going for about $122,500 on average. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Thoughts? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

As someone who grew up here, it was the best decision I ever made. A lot has changed in the past few years though. healthcare used to be much affordable but now it's better than expected.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Hope this helps!.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Atlanta about 4 years ago. The main reasons were work and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good airport with direct flights
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are competitive, gas is challenging.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Definitely worth checking out..

I've lived in Midtown for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Decent public transit for the size
- The weather scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for families. Definitely worth checking out..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a project manager who relocated here from LA about 8 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good internet infrastructure
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Rising rent and home prices

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are affordable, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Bought a house here in 2017 and I have mixed feelings honestly. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in East for 5 years. Moved from Phoenix for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is average. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
hospitality is strong here. consulting is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are wild for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The outdoor scene is average - we have ski resorts within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. East schools are average. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Urban sprawl is real. Limited shopping options. And outdoor recreation can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 9/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
