Pros and cons of Trenton after 6 years

I'm a teacher here and Household incomes average around $47,102 in Trenton. With a population of 89,966, Trenton is a smaller city. Crime rate is something to consider -Trenton sits at 1,122.7 per 100K. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Friendly people
- Low taxes
- Strong sense of community
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Limited nightlife
- Boring for young people
Worth the trade-offs? The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is pet-friendliness. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Worth doing your research before committing.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is excellent in most areas.
